Time is upon us again to think about those that throughout the year have faced many difficulties keeping their families afloat. We’ve put away our lawn chairs and are about to take out our snow shovels. Once again, Santa has started his list. During this wonderful season of thankfulness for all our blessings, there are families in our neighborhood who could use a helping hand to make this a merry holiday season. For many years the residents of Wildwood have come together and opened up their hearts to help those less fortunate, and this year will be no exception.
During the Santa Parade on December 2nd, we will be collecting food for those families. Please leave all items outside at your mailbox if you can’t be around or if your street is blocked due to construction. When we drive through the neighborhood with Santa on the Grayslake Fire Truck, we will pick up your packages. If you need to drop off the food prior to December 2nd, please bring your items to the Wildwood Park District Office located at 33325 N. Sears Blvd. Please have all donations there by the November 30th deadline. Any cash donations will go to buy fresh food for the families. Please check the expiration dates before donating food items.
We have been asked where we get the names of the families in need. We get them from Warren Township for our local community. Donna & Jennifer Rake are carrying on this tradition with the wonderful help of the community. The Santa Parade will run through Wildwood, beginning and ending at Rule Park. We will begin around 11am and end when we get through the community. We are unable to go down any cul-de-sac streets so please come to a main street to see Santa and have your pictures taken. Because of the unknown factors of weather and number of children/adults wanting pictures with Santa, we cannot set up a specific time for each area but you will hear the familiar horns coming through so be on the lookout. God Bless Us One and All and have a wonderful, safe and warm holiday season! Thank you for your continued support!!
Special Thanks to the Following for all their help with the 2023 Santa Parade and Food Drive
Jennifer and I couldn’t do this each year with you all!!!
This has been a crazy year for real estate. I began my career in 1986 when rates were 13% and more homes sold in that market than all of 2023 thus far. A few years ago, rates dropped to around 3% and now are up to 8%. Go figure. Approximately 42 homes closed in our community of Wildwood with many more buyers still waiting. Jennifer and I believe in this neighborhood and in the value of the homes here. Whether you are looking to buy or sell a home, we are commited to giving you our best expertise and service. We welcome all calls with questions or concerns. As always “We are striving to be your Personal Realtors”.
Referrals Appreciated!!!
