Maureen Jekot, Director
Maureen received her B.A. Degree from North Central College
in Sociology and Anthropology with concentrations in Social
Work and Therapeutic Recreation. She has been employed with
the Wildwood Park District since 2000, initially serving as
Superintendent of Recreation. Before coming to Wildwood,
Maureen worked at the Carol Stream Park District, Niles
Park District, Village of Niles, Village of Hainesville and
Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County.
Beginning as a day camp counselor during her college years,
she has been in the field of parks and recreation for 31
years.
Kathy Miller, Pre-school/Day Camp Supervisor
Kathy Miller has been in the field early childhood
education for 30 plus years. She attended the Lake County
Vocational Center (now called Tech Campus) for 2 years
studying early childhood education. She went on to College
of Lake County where she received an Associates Degree in
Early Childhood Education. Prior to Kathy coming to the
Wildwood Park District, she worked for the Mundelein Park
District-Big and Little Child Development Center for many
years. Kathy came to the Wildwood Park District in 1997 as
a Head Teacher for Schoolhouse Adventures Preschool; she
took over the position of Supervisor and added Camp several
years ago. Kathy is a local girl; she grew up on Sears
Blvd. and attended both Woodland and Warren High School.
Teresa Hansen, Recreation Supervisor
Teresa comes to us with a broad personal background in park
district activities, She has volunteered for various park
district activities and special events in a number of park
districts in the area for the past 35 years. Teresa has an
Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently
pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Parks and Recreation
Management. Teresa still enjoys playing softball in leagues
around the county and has coached basketball, volleyball,
softball, and t-ball at various age levels. She has been
married for 28 years and has two sons.
Paul Kibitlewski, Maintenance Supervisor
Paul
has worked for the Wildwood Park District for 21 years.
Prior to coming to the Wildwood Park District, Paul was
employed by a carpenter contractor building custom homes.
Hired on in 1989, he worked as a summer employee until
being hired on full time in 1999; working his way up to the
current position of Maintenance Supervisor. He oversees
work done in 11 parks as well as maintenance department
employees. Paul is certified as a Playground Safety
Inspector by the National Playground Safety Institute, and
also holds a certification on special application of solid
mosquito larvicides. Paul is also certified in adult and
child CPR and AED and is certified in chainsaw safety
operations. Paul is a self taught mechanic and serves on
the park district safety committee.
Candace Olsen,
Office Manager
Candace Olsen
has had the pleasure of serving as Office Manager for the
Wildwood Park District for 4 years, and has been in the
parks & recreation field for 9 years. Prior to working
in Wildwood she served as Office Manager for the Village of
Antioch's Parks & Recreation department, as well as
held the position of Park Commission Secretary and Miss
Antioch Pageant Assistant Director. Candace’s family loves
attending park district activities & programs and truly
enjoys the close-knit community feel of Wildwood.
Joanne Strantz, Part time Office Clerk & Piano Teacher
Joanne Strantz has been with the Wildwood Park District for
nine years. Joanne was hired for the part-time office
position in 2001. In 2003, Jo became one of the park
district’s piano teachers, teaching young beginners to play
and enjoy the piano. In 2004, ‘Gramma Jo’ took on the added
responsibility of becoming an aide for the Schoolhouse
Adventure Preschool program for a few very enjoyable years.
Jo enjoys being with the Park District family and hopes to
be with them for many more years.
The Wildwood Park District
also offers many seasonal positions for Day Camp and Swim
Lessons each year. Please contact the district for
